Save the Horses

I read in a National Geographic article that wild mustang horses in Nevada may have to be killed because the cost of keeping them alive is too much. Is there a more inhumane way to solve this problem? I think not. Really though, we already herd these animals into holding pens, where they may be adopted or bought, and if not, just live out their lives in a pen. The economy is bad, it's understandable that funding the caretaking of wild horses won't be a top priority, but do we really need to kill them? There must be a better solution. Some people think there should be incentives for people willing to take care of these horses, some think they should be set free again. Whatever happens, death is not the answer. America's heart is not stone.

I ate a horse once. It tasted just like a cow.
