The World isn't Totally Going to the Dogs

We live in a time when awful things happen - people blow themselves up, people fight in wars, people starve to death, etc. When you look at all the bad things going on in the world, life seems a bit hopeless. What's the point of being good when nothing you do is going to change anything? Well, there are still lots of good people around us today. For example, up skiing today, we had to park in a snowy spot and it snowed all day. So when we got back, the snow was deep and of course the car had trouble getting out. Some random guy had noticed we were in a tight spot so he came over and just started pushing. That didn't really help so he waved over some other guys and they all helped push and maneuver the car until it was free. All we could do was say thanks. Anyway, the world is going downhill, everybody knows it, but there is still a lot of good to be found wherever you go and I think that's what we should start focusing on.

Christmas break is finally here!

We made it through finals with flying Aces...and maybe some Bces or Cces (I'm speaking for myself here not Rose. I'm sure she got all A's), but it doesn't matter because we're done! I'll have to treasure my few days I have with Rose, however, since she is leaving me for 12 days... :( We want to get as much skiing in as we can before she leaves, but so far it's not working out to well. When the the Snowbird webcam looks like this, you know it's not good:

It's like 7 degrees at the peak with 40 mph winds! All that says to me is a numb, windburned face and numb fingers and toes which equals not fun. And since it's going to be even colder on Saturday, we only have two days to ski together...(one tear just moistened my cheek). But we're going to make the best of it right Rose? Right!

Comment on National Geographic picture

So I was trying to figure out, with my roommate Ashley, how Rose might have found the picture on our first post. We were discussing all of the different things she may have typed into google image search to find that picture. Our ideas ranged from National Geographic to pretty pictures to man and cows and eventually led to the conclusion that she must have typed in man riding antelope. I thought that must be it until Ashley pointed out to me that the man isn't actually riding the animal, he's behind it. Well, whatever it is, the mystery remains. How did you find that picture Rose?

Man riding jackalope, even better!
